This morning looked like another dull and wet day in Milan but we decided to venture out anyway, as we needed to drop off our laundry. Our day was instantly brightened by Sonia and Tea, who are so very kind and caring. Firstly, they picked up from the blog that Friday was my birthday and gave me a beautiful notebook as a gift. Secondly, they gave Ava a lovely umbrella as we don't have one here and a gorgeous pearl necklace which she saw hanging behind the counter. They treat us like family and it is going to be very sad to say goodbye to them in a couple of weeks. After a walk to feed the ducks we returned to our hotel to yet more gifts. The mystery of the shiny parcels deepens, as we have received another two packages, this time containing some super fairy and bird craft kits. Thank you again whoever you are! In the meantime, Ava and I have solved another mystery... On Friday a man whom we often see accompanying an elderly gentleman in our hotel gave Ava a box of yummy cakes. Today another man with the older gentleman gave Ava a Japanese 'Kinder' egg and some delicious chocolates. We were intrigued as to who these people were and it turns out that the older man is the head of the Ferrero family (of Nutella, Ferrero Rocher and Kinder fame); the younger men being his employees, meeting him here to seek his approval on new products. Apparently he is in his 80's but still likes to oversee everything. Ava gave both Mr Ferrero and his new treats a big thumbs up!
