I'm happy to say that Ava is feeling great and back to school this morning. She was discharged from hospital on Saturday and I was most relieved to see her bounce back pretty quickly. Despite recent news of her disease stability, there is always a worry with MLD kids that any stress on the nervous system, including a virus, can cause some disease progression. Richard and I have both been ill all weekend too, so it has definitely been a gastric virus. The NHS were pretty thorough with Ava, if a little slow, so it's good to know we have back up when we need it. I feel most relieved that we haven't had to deal with any other virus or infection post-transplant. Fingers crossed that Angelina has escaped this and that we are all well for a while now.
