A mixed week last week. Ava had a couple of off days mid-week where she struggled with her therapy and seemed to find it very hard to concentrate or be motivated. She has been sad without Angelina around, which may have had a lot to do with it. Thankfully she seemed over this by Thursday, when she began working hard again. The therapists have started noticing an improvement in the quality of Ava's movements, as well as improved ability in independent standing. Don't get me wrong, the changes are very small, but at least they are signs of positive change. I've also noticed a few very encouraging things at home, for example Ava has been standing up from the loo without help and incredibly stood up in the bath by herself a few nights ago. She has also rediscovered how to click her tongue, which sounds like nothing, but afterwards she said "I'm getting my old self back", which made me realise how such small things can be a big deal if you can't do them. Trying to walk again must seem like a monumental task and we are so proud of her persistence.
