Ava has super-legs!

This morning Ava collected her AFO's - aka Super-Legs! They are lightweight and very neat, a vast improvement on the cumbersome, ill-fitting NHS offering. Although Ava needs to break them for a few hours a day and we will not likely see their full benefit for a while, they immediately enabled her feet to clear the ground when walking (as opposed to her dragging her toes), which is a very positive start. She couldn't walk at all in the NHS version. Ava is also very enthusiastic about wearing them and is very happy with her choice of design; pink with butterflies. Another great advantage to them fitting properly means that we will not struggle so badly to find shoes for them, which was actually incredibly difficult with our first set, and it now looks like we will even be able to find school shoes as well as trainers. I'm starting to see why they come with such a hefty price tag, no doubt we will know soon enough whether they have been a good investment...
