Day +329

Posted on: 20/02/2015

We are happy but exhausted after a busy half term week. Ava and Angelina have been on an intensive swimming course which (despite being too early at 9am every morning) has been terrific for both of them. Ava's coordination has improved and I was really proud to see her swim (with float) an entire length of the pool on her back. Ava can struggle to sense her centre of gravity when lying down, as it can give her a sensation of falling backwards. Being able to swim on her back is a big step forward. Both girls have worked hard at their swimming and Angelina is on a high after learning butterfly stroke. As well as swimming they have also enjoyed trips to to cinema and the pottery cafe, all of which have helped motivate Ava during her daily therapy sessions, which she has been less enthusiastic about knowing that she is there whilst most of her friends are off enjoying lovely holidays. I have had a good week also, particularly as I met two wonderful people who have set up a charity called 'MLD Support Support Association UK'. It aims to bring affected families together in order to share the benefit of their experience and I am thrilled that they are also going to help get ArchAngel Grants out to the families who need our help.
