Day +361 - Image 1

Day +361

Posted on: 24/03/2015

We began our day with a visit to the optician, who reported no change in Ava's eyesight since her previous assessment. We then had a break for a few hours, during which we checked out the shops underneath the hospital and discovered these gigantic 5kg Easter eggs! At 3pm this afternoon Ava began her neuropsychometric (IQ) assessment, which takes 3 hours in total. I was worried because this wasn't an ideal time of day to start for Ava, who would most likely be quite tired at this point. Particularly after walking miles of corridors at the hospital yesterday and this morning. Last time they ended up splitting this test over several days, as Ava was only managing to concentrate for around half an hour at a time. Unbelievably, today she lasted 2 and a half hours and was apparently on great form throughout. We only stopped because it was time for the psychologists to go home. Ava will complete the remaining half hour tomorrow. I will be very interested to hear the results next week and compare them to last time... Tomorrow we have a fairly relaxed schedule. Although rain is forecast, we are hoping to take a walk up to the duck pond, as there are rumours of a film crew there and Ava is excited to see which of her animal friends are being turned into stars!
