The playground is safe, Ava's neutrophils are 1200! Today we spent 6 hours at the hospital, for routine medications and checks. The doctors were quick to spot a couple of fresh bruises on Ava's knees (probably from crawling through a tunnel at the playground) and immediately gave her a platelet transfusion. So we are all good and ready for a hospital-free weekend. And with perfect timing, as tonight Ava's best friend Luisa arrived! Luisa brought them both matching jewellery sets and proceeded to give Ava all of her love and attention. To see Ava chatting and playing so animatedly over dinner has been an absolute delight and this injection of normality after 52 days in the isolation unit has been priceless. I can't thank Luisa's mother Ana Maria enough. Not only for the fact that she dropped everything in a heartbeat fly out here for the weekend, but also for the exceptional energy and commitment she has thrown into Archangel as a Trustee. Ava and I are both very lucky to have such incredibly kind-hearted friends.
