Our walk this morning was eerily quiet and we deduced that everyone must be in church. At the same time we came across a large notice board featuring this prayer to Archangel Raphael, whom the hospital is named after. Whatever your religious beliefs, I am sure that you can appreciate it as a powerful symbol of hope for the thousands of people who put their faith into this hospital, as we have done. We certainly feel blessed to have been given the chance of such an optimistic future for Ava. This afternoon Ava and I practiced telling the time and made daisy chain tiaras. Whilst I still have a lifetime of worry ahead of me, it's also nice to have these precious moments of normality.
