A big day at the hospital today. Ava went under anaesthetic for an MRI brain scan, nerve conduction test, bone marrow extraction and catheter removal. Having 'Wiggly' the catheter removed was especially exciting for Ava and is a huge milestone in her recovery. Everything went really well and, with the exception of a brief sign-off on Monday, Gene Therapy is done! This is an amazing feeling for both of us. Tonight we had a joyful reunion with Becky and her gorgeous children Ella and Eli, both of whom are in Ava's GT family. They have returned to Milan from the US for their 6 and 12 month checks respectively and are both doing fantastically well. I can't think of a nicer family to spend our last weekend in Milan with.
