Day +93

Today was our last full day in Milan and it started with a surprise gift of this cute teddy bear from one of the waitresses, Alexandra, in our hotel. We managed a brief walk before the rain started and continued for the rest of the day. However nothing could dampen our mood, as we are both super excited about going home. Ava has chatted non-stop about her plans and can't wait to be back in her own bedroom with all of her toys. She is also really looking forward to seeing all of her friends and delighted to be going back to London before everyone disappears at the end of term. Ava is very well in herself and, aside from having lost her hair, to look at her you wouldn't think that anything had happened. However her immune system is still very low, so we must be careful about the risk of infection in busy places. Other than that, we will try to resume as much of normal life as possible. Tonight we had dinner with Becky, Ella, Eli and Becky's Mum. The girls adore each other and are clearly aware that they share a special bond. I shall remember their hysterical laughter tonight for a long time to come. Seeing Ava so happy is the perfect ending to our time here.
