Happy New Year!

Two days after Santa came to our island on a jet-ski, we returned to London to find that he had also been to Warwick Square and left lots of goodies. Ava was thrilled to find an American Girl Doll baby and Angelina a laptop. We were also all blessed with horrendous jet lag (a 4am start for 8 days), but I can honestly say that our wonderful holiday was still worth it. We were lucky to have a week to adjust before returning to school on Tuesday. Angelina has gone straight into the stress of her 11+ exams and Ava has also had a bit of a shaky start, as she has been quite tired and complaining of pain in her left hip. She has also been walking on the side of her left foot and so she is going to have an X-Ray next week to see which problem is causing which. In the meantime, we have enlisted a private orthotist to make Ava some AFO's (ankle foot orthotics), as the NHS offering was very poor quality and totally ineffective. These should hopefully give Ava greater weight bearing ability, which in turn should help her balance. We haven't any idea what 2016 will hold for Ava but we are ever thankful for the excellent therapists we have found and for the fact that Ava is still smiling, despite her daily challenges.
