Hooray for half-term

Posted on: 17/02/2016

It seems like the first half of the spring term has passed in the blink of an eye. Ava is well, although she only managed 3 days with her AFOs before blisters got the better of her and they had to be sent back for adjustment. We are hoping to collect them later this week. We have been quite preoccupied with Angelina's 11+ exams over the past few weeks, but I'm happy to say that she been offered places at both of the schools she applied to. Phew! She has decided to stay at Francis Holland, where she will feel close enough to Ava to know she's safe, yet will feel less responsible for her because she won't see her anymore during the day. I think she has made a wise decision, as it is a fantastic senior school. A record number of girls applied this year - close to 500 for 50 places - so we are all really proud of her for making the grade. In the midst of all that we took a fleeting trip to Newcastle to celebrate Grandma Angie's 70th birthday and Angelina has taken part in no less than 3 gymnastics competitions, winning 3rd place medals in two of them. We are now enjoying a quiet half term in London this week (nearly everyone we know has gone skiing). Both girls are swimming every day and we are enjoying simple pleasures like playing board games and baking.
