Wedding Belles

We are having a relatively quiet summer. Most of our friends have been away but at least the sun has been shining at home. Angelina has had a amazing week in the country with friends where she learned to waterski and another week getting back to nature on a brilliant 'bushcraft' camp. Ava has enjoyed lots of trips to the parks, galleries and museums. We also managed to get to Northumberland for a few days to celebrate a family birthday (happy 21st Lewis!) and a couple of weekends ago we all attended a fun wedding in Derbyshire, complete with outside games and a 'hip-hop chip shop'. It was great to see our lovely friends Matthew and Lucinda finally tying the knot after 13 years and 2 children together. Ava has been on a slightly reduced therapy schedule through all this, whilst various therapists have taken their annual leave, which has made it easier to leave London for a few days at a time. We have had to step up our home exercise programme accordingly and Ava has been noticeably stiffer this past week, when there have been no swimming lessons. We are now heading off to Spain for a few days to see more old friends and do LOTS of swimming. We can't believe the holidays are almost over. Angelina is both nervous and excited about starting senior school on 2nd September and Ava is really looking forward to seeing her friends again on 6th. Our school have been working hard on adaptations to the building for Ava during the holidays and have built her a special bathroom and installed an ingenious mobile stair climber. All we need now is another fantastic teaching assistant, although this is proving much harder than anticipated. I may just have to keep my diary free for a while and do it myself if we haven't found anyone by the time term starts...
